Welcome to Lucas Smith Bakers

Lucas Smith was originally Pollards of Little Sutton. Ken Smith purchased this business in 1974. Having spent 15 years prior in the baking industry, including an apprenticeship with Rathbones of Wigan, serving two years at Blackpool college, awarded a national bakery diploma.

Following this Mr Smith spent fives years with Sayers in R&D .and two years as Bakery Manager at Griffiths of Chester. Since purchasing the business and renaming, Mr Smith holds the Licentiaship of the City of Guilds in Recognition of Achievement in Education , Training and Employment.

Mr Smith believes in education and training and has ensured all his main staff are qualified to City and Guilds level and attend courses in Environmental Health & Safety.
